Hi again everybody!

This is your club president John keeping you all aware of the recent happenings at the TKD club.

Firstly, TKD Club T-shirts! With Winter leaving us behind and the hot sunny days of Summer approaching (but what happened to Spring?), we will be selling TKD club t-shirts from this week. Everybody that comes to train are encouraged to wear a club t-shirt during lessons or if you can handle the heat you can wear a traditional TKD dobok uniform. They are dark blue and will only cost $10. Daniel joked that it will cost $60 and I still find it funny that some people believed him.

Secondly, those of you who purchased TKD Club dobok uniforms, in-step guards (the foot guards) and gloves can pick them up from Master Seo from middle of next week. All other equipment such as shin and arm guards can be picked up from this Friday.

Grading is on this Saturday from 1pm. Grading requirements can be found on our website at www.usydtkd.com or on our Facebook group. Those that need help to prepare for grading can receive help from me after Wednesday night training or on Saturday between 11am to 1pm. It is compulsory for black
belts to attend this grading to help. ALSO, Jason Tang will be grading for his black belt this time so please come along and give him your full support!

Lastly, this news is important for current Black Belts of Sydney Uni TKD Club. It has been executively decided that all black belts that earned their Dan qualifications outside of Sydney Uni TKD Club must re-grade. Even national champions that decide to train at our club will have to re-grade to prove their worth as a black belt. This re-grading exam is free of charge, and this also includes the costs associated with wood for breaking. If an individual fails to pass the first re-grade, then they must pay for the cost of the wood in their second re-grading test. All current black belts (excluding Daniel Kim and Dale Adams) have until May 2009 to regrade, failure to do so will result in the demotion to green/blue belt. For now and until May 2009, black belts are allowed to retain their black belt status.

That is all for now, and if you have any enquiries please feel free to e-mail, sms or talk to me in person. Best of luck for all your assignments!

Kind regards,

John Lee
